This Tuesday 9 June, Hinchinbrook Shire Council has coloured the fountain at Rotary Park in the heart of Ingham blue in recognition of Thank a First Responder Day.

First responders support our communities every day, often in challenging and high-pressure situations. Their dedication, professionalism and commitment help keep us safe when it matters most.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the first responders who serve our community and make a difference every day.

In October 2026, the Australian Government is launching AusAlert, a new national warning system that uses the latest technology to send emergency messages to compatible mobile devices. It’s a fast and reliable way to help communities be informed and better prepared during local and national emergencies. It’s just one of the many ways the Australian Government and state and territory emergency services organisations are helping to keep Australians safer. To learn more, visit ausalert.gov.au
