Have you spotted yellow markers at Oatley Point Reserve? 💛
Council’s Bushcare team has partnered with Westgate Labs to trial new herbicide treatments for Mother of Millions at Oatley Point Reserve
🌿 Why Mother of Millions?
Mother of Millions is a highly invasive succulent that spreads rapidly through tiny plantlets that grow along its leaves. It quickly invades bushland, outcompetes native vegetation, and reduces habitat for local wildlife.
🌱 What’s happening now?
The yellow markers identify plants included in this carefully managed 12 week trial. By testing innovative treatment methods, we're working to find more effective ways to control Mother of Millions while supporting the regeneration of native vegetation.
The findings from this trial will help improve the long-term health of Oatley Point Reserve and contribute to more effective w**d management across our bushland reserves.

👀 Have you spotted our patches of pink tape?

Council’s Bushcare team has partnered with Westgate Labs to trial new herbicide treatments for Privet at Peakhurst Foreshore Reserve over the next 12 months.

🌿 Why Privet?
Privet is a highly invasive w**d that spreads quickly, crowds out native plants and reduces habitat for local wildlife. Once established, it forms dense thickets that stop native seedlings from growing and can significantly alter the health of bushland areas.

🌱 What’s happening now?
The pink tape marks plants involved in this carefully managed trial. By testing innovative treatment methods, we’re working to find more effective ways to control privet while supporting regeneration of native vegetation.
This trial will help improve the overall health of the reserve and support a stronger, more resilient local environment for the future.
