Last night the Brigade had our final training session for the year, preparing the vehicles and chainsaws to ensure we are prepared for any cyclones or extreme weather events over this wet season.

🎅🎅🎅SANTA RUN 2025🎅🎅🎅

Santa, The Grinch, their very special transport vehicles and the Humpty Doo vollies took to the local streets yesterday for our 2025 Santa Run.

It was a wonderful day, made special for us by seeing so many children, their families and community members who turned out to enjoy the day. Thank you for your support, for following our directions to keep everybody safe, and for helping us keep this community tradition alive.

Special thanks go to -
* Santa and The Grinch. What can we say? You put smiles on so many faces ❤️

* Mark and Nick for supplying and driving the fantastic vintage vehicles that transported Santa and The Grinch from stop to stop. Mark's yearly commitment to our Santa Run is a big part of what makes it so special.

* Naree and her helpers for providing us with our afternoon snack again this year. It was much appreciated. We were also provided with some icy poles at 2 of our stops. Our vollies were very happy to take a minute to enjoy these and cool off.

* Our wonderful community members who donated to the Brigade for the Santa Run this year.

🎅 Xmas Toy Raffle Drawn 🎅
Yesterday our annual raffle was drawn by Belinda from Woolworths Humpty Doo. Thank you Belinda.
The lucky winner was Helen and we hope she enjoys her prize.
A massive thanks to our wonderful community who bought tickets, donated and have supported this fundraising event. Your support assists us to hold our Santa Run every year.

🎅🎅 Xmas Toy Raffle tickets.

The morning isn't cool but our volunteers certainly are 😎👍

You can find us for one more morning at the Woolies Complex HDoo from 7.30am - 11.00am today. Head down, say gedday and buy a couple of tickets to support your local Brigade and our 2025 Annual Santa Run, which is also on today. Raffle will be drawn at 11am.

No Burn Permits shall be written today. If you need one head on down to our Brigade, 3 Vereker St, on Monday night between 6-7 pm.

🎅🎅🎅 It's starting to get exciting!
Check our Santa Stops Here schedule, let the kids know it's only one more sleep and come out and see Santa, his mate The Grinch and his Santa Run helpers.

Please keep the kids safe and back from the road, follow any Santa's Helpers instructions and bring your hats, sunscreen and water. It can be a warm afternoon.

If you are driving past and see us please give us a wave and follow the directions of our volunteers providing traffic control. This keeps everybody safe.

🎅2025 SANTA RUN🎅🎅
Santa and his helpers are busy getting ready for our community Santa Run this Saturday 6th Dec.

Our Santa Stops Here signs are up, the tinsel is ready and we'll be driving down a street near you soon. Check out our schedule below and we'll see you on Saturday.

Our vollies will also be outside HDoo Woolies on Saturday 7.30am - 11am if you still haven't bought your tickets for our XmasToy Raffle. Raffle will be drawn at 11am.
Funds raised go towards our Santa Run.
No burn permits will be written at this time.

🎅🎅ANNUAL XMAS TOY RAFFLE🎅🎅
Our volunteers will be at the HDoo Woolworths shopping complex this Sat 29th and Sun 30th Nov from 7.30 am - 12.00 pm. We will be selling tickets for our Xmas Toy Raffle and there are lots of great toys for the kids. Pop on down, say hello and assist your local Brigade with our fundraising efforts 🎅
Burn Permits will also be available. You must reside in the Humpty Doo area and bring photo ID as proof of residency. Strict regulations apply to all burn permits.

🔥🔥Burn Permits are now available. Please read the below information. Humpty Doo Volunteer Fire Brigade will be at the HDoo Woolworths complex on Saturday morning selling raffle tickets for our Xmas Toy Raffle, 7.30 am - 12 pm. We can issue a permit at this time. You will need to live in Humpty Doo and produce ID as proof of residency for a permit to be issued.

Burn permits for the Katherine, Adelaide River, Batchelor and Litchfield Shire regions within the NT Fire and Rescue Service emergency response areas (ERAs) are open to assist in the recovery of Tropical Cyclone Fina.

Permits to burn come with strict conditions, and the NTFRS encourages all owners and occupiers of land to consider alternatives to burning wherever possible.

Conditions for burn permits include:
🔥 Fires must contain only green waste material
🔥 The land immediately around and above the burn pile must be cleared of all flammable material to a four-metre distance
🔥 Firebreaks must be installed and are maintained on the property
🔥 Water is readily available to extinguish the fire
🔥 The fire must not cause air pollution or excessive smoke
🔥 A copy of your permit must be readily available
🔥 If the fire weather forecast issued by the Bureau of Meteorology is high, extreme or catastrophic, or if a fire ban has been imposed, no fire shall be lit
🔥 The permit holder must notify all surrounding residents 24 hours before the intended burn date
🔥 The permit holder must notify the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) on 8922 1555 immediately before lighting the fire
🔥 Each burn should be extinguished within 12 hours, and if more time is required, the permit holder must notify the JESCC.

Failing to follow the terms and conditions of a permit is an infringeable offence.

Permits can be obtained by visiting your local fire brigade or volunteer fire brigade, and you will need to bring proof of identification.
