Little Desert Division
Last Wednesday we had students from both campuses represent out school at the Little Desert Division Carnival. Students competed against other schools in AFL, Soccer and Netball.
Netball
Congratulations to both of our school netball teams on their outstanding performances. HWHPS 1 (Division 1) and HWHPS 2 (Division 2- Friendlies) were undefeated throughout the day, showcasing excellent skill and teamwork in every match.
A special congratulations goes to HWHPS 1, who progressed through to the Grand Final and were crowned Division 1 champions after a fantastic team performance. We wish them all the best as they advance to the Greater Western Regional Carnival in Ballarat. A big thank you to Maryam, Melissa Hoffmann, Tegan Wade, Kimmy Shannon and Mrs Shields.
Soccer
HWHPS enjoyed an outstanding day at the Little Desert Division Soccer competition, recording four wins from four games. The team played with energy, teamwork and determination throughout the day.
Archie was a constant threat through the middle, finishing with six goals, while Htoo Say led the forward line superbly and scored nine goals. Lincoln K impressed with his skilful dribbling and ability to move the ball into attacking positions, and Afraz contributed several excellent passes that created opportunities for teammates.
In midfield, Ivan provided strong leadership and control, helping the team transition between defence and attack. Jimmy worked tirelessly to hold down an attacking corner, while Moo Soe showed leadership and composure in defence. Jack and Ben shared the goalkeeping duties effectively throughout the day. A special highlight was seeing Henry and Lincoln S score their first ever goals for the school team, making the tournament a memorable experience for everyone involved. The team proceeds to the Greater Western Regional Carnival in Ballarat. Thank you to Mr V for his encouragement and guidance.
AFL
Our students recently competed in the , with two HWHPS teams representing the school with pride and determination.
HWHPS 1 had an excellent day at the Little Desert Division AFL Carnival, winning three of their four matches. The team displayed great skill and effort throughout the carnival, moving the ball well and competing strongly in every contest. Their only loss came against a talented Wimmera Lutheran College side, who proved too strong on the day.
In Division 2, HWHPS 2 showed fantastic enthusiasm, finishing with one win and three losses. The team continued to work hard in every game, demonstrating improvement positive sportsmanship. Thank you to Mr Weston and Wade for coaching on the day.
