✅ do show how difficult it will be to control/suppress a fire on the day
✅ are based on weather and fuel conditions.

🚒BRIGADE VISIT🚒
We had another visitor drop by the station today! A big island welcome to Captain Tony Pinelli from the Drouin West Fire Brigade - CFA in West Gippsland (Victoria), who respond to both bushfires and structure fires. It was awesome to swap notes, compare gear, and look at how our operations differ and how much they stay the same, whether you are protecting structural assets or managing rural bushland.
Thanks for calling in Tony, enjoy the rest of your holiday on the island! 🌴

🚒 BACK ON THE ROAD & CODE 5🚒
The short "overseas" holiday for Horseshoe Bay 51 is over!
Our medium attack appliance is back on the road and ready for turnout. A massive thank you to the team at JB's Diesel & Mechanical Townsville for looking after our truck and being great to deal with, top-tier service all round!👏
Also, a huge thank you to our Area Office staff for all of their logistical support behind the scenes. One Team - One Mission! 🙏
HSB 51 is now officially Code 5 and back in service protecting
the community. Thank you, everyone!

🚨 TRAINING WEEKEND WRAP-UP 🚨
Following on from yesterday’s First Aid and CPR refresher, some of our crew members took an another step forward today, by completing their Advanced Resuscitation, theory and practical training! Stepping up to this advanced level takes serious dedication. They did a fantastic job mastering these vital life-saving skills and practicing high-pressure communication.👏
A huge thank you to those who gave up their weekend to keep their skills sharp.

The Emergency Management Team will be visiting Magnetic Island tomorrow alongside the Yellow Crazy Ants Team to meet with the community, learn more about local recovery needs, and hear what support would help you prepare for and recover from disasters.
