At Holland Park State High School, we provide our students with very high-quality education that is exceedingly engaging across a variety of subject areas. We equip learners with the skills and knowledge to make a difference in the world whilst becoming informed and empowered citizens. We focus on the individual child and their needs, focusing strongly on students performing to their potential, be

coming active lifelong learners who demonstrate responsibility, resilience, and adaptability. We instil in all students the importance of developing personally and socially, striving to fully understand the world around them, and clearly understand how they can contribute in a positive manner. Our positive learning culture promotes students constantly striving to know, learn and do more to ensure personal growth and understanding. We support student success but recognise success for each student is personalised and comes in many forms. At Holland Park State High School, we have a range of platforms for students to engage with to showcase and develop their 21st century skills and love of learning. Students are able to become part of our Volleyball, STEAM or Music Excellence programs, our Japanese Immersion program, or our HPX Academy. We also provide a range of extra-curricular opportunities for students to engage with to ensure connectedness towards themselves and the sense of community and belonging is transpiring. I am proud of the opportunities we provide for all our students, as we believe each person is special and no student gets lost in the crowd. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide opportunities for all our students. We know and understand our students, families and community, and together provide a personalised education for our students. We endeavour to foster students who are well rounded, community minded, understanding and driven to recognise their place in the world as to best prepare themselves for the future.

Queensland Volleyball State Championships
Congratulations to Georgie (Year 9) on her performance at the 13–15 years Queensland Volleyball State Championships.

Competing as a member of the Met East team, Georgie played a key role as a setter in a highly competitive pool. The team finished 3rd in the state, with the two teams ahead of them also coming from their pool.

A strong and rewarding experience at state level — well done, Georgie!

Our Athletics Carnival celebrations will begin on Thursday with our pre-athletic carnival events. Only students who have nominated to compete in specific events will be required at designated times throughout the day. Information regarding event times and locations will be provided to students.

On Friday, the whole school will come together for our annual Athletics Carnival. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to represent their house, participate in events, and cheer on their peers throughout the day. We encourage all students to get involved, show their house spirit, and enjoy a day of friendly competition, teamwork, and school pride.

Throughout this month, HPSHS staff and students have proudly taken part in The Push-Up Challenge, raising awareness and funds to support youth mental health. Across the term, a range of fitness challenges and fundraising activities have encouraged our school community to get involved, and it has been fantastic to see so many students enthusiastically supporting this important cause.

If you would like to contribute to our fundraising efforts and help make a difference in the lives of young people, please consider making a donation via the link below:

Marshall Road State School Under 8’s Morning
On Friday 19 June, a group of Senior Early Childhood students attended the annual Marshall Road State School’s Under 8’s morning. They jumped straight into the event, helping run a variety of creative and fun activities like Bubble Wands, Box Construction, Old-Fashioned Games, and jump rope (skipping)—keeping the children smiling and busy all morning. The excitement didn’t end there, as the Police and Fire Departments made a special appearance, giving the young children (and older ones) the chance to climb inside their vehicles and experience flashing lights and sirens up close. It was a morning where everyone, both big and small, had a fantastic time!
