Today, on International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination,
Pia Saturno, Acting Anti-Discrimination Commissioner, shares an important video message reminding us that we are all equal, regardless of our skin colour, religion, or migration status.

Her message is clear — Tasmania is strongest when everyone feels they belong and are valued.
Respect, inclusion, and fairness make our communities safer and stronger for all.

We’re excited to announce a FREE event we’re presenting in partnership with the Australian Human Rights Commission.

It’s the first in the Commission’s national The Answer Is Human Rights seminar series, and it’s going to be here in Hobart at the RACV Hobart Hotel on Tuesday 21 April from 5:30pm – 7pm.

With growing concerns around social cohesion, the right to peaceful protest, housing affordability, economic inequality, and the impact of climate change and digital technologies, the seminar will focus on how protecting and promoting human rights can help us address these and other challenging issues.

Featuring a panel of leading national and Tasmanian human rights advocates, it’s a not-to-be missed event for anyone who cares about keeping our democracy healthy and strong as well as ensuring Australia and Tasmania are just, equal and inclusive places where everyone can feel safe and have opportunities to thrive.

REGISTER HERE: https://events.humanitix.com/the-answer-is-human-rights-hobart

This seminar aims to inform attendees about how we can advance human rights in Australia and fix wrongs with rights.
