Hi. What I think of as the friendliest doll show in Tasmania is returning after a hiatus due to COVID and then the gentleman running it retiring. It's on Saturday 25th November 9am to 4pm. Salvation Army Corp building 23 Victoria Street Ulverstone. Entry is a gold coin that will go to the freight charges for the Good Samaritan Shoe Box Organisation.
The Hobart Dolls Hospital can't get there as already tied up with other things but when I went there prior to COVID it was the friendliest doll show I have ever participated in with lots of stalls and customers. It has toys, teddy bears, dolls, 1800s to modern. Accessories, clothes, cradles and more.

On Wednesday 8th February, I shall be providing a talk on the stories behind toys. It shall be after the short Neighbourhood Watch meeting and anyone would be very welcome to come along. 7.30 pm, Lawrenny Court Hall, 131 Hill Street, West Hobart. Below is the description of the talk as published in the local newsletter................
"The meeting shall be followed by guest speaker Kitty Kruup who shall be sharing stories behind dolls and toys.
See the doll that was banned in Germany and parents told to destroy it as it could be used for spying and espionage. Hear about the man who spent 10 years hiding in a box, keeping himself sane by making miniatures. How the influence of an American
president resulted in the well known teddy bears we see today, and how Lucille Ball broke new ground on television by acting throughout her pregnancy and the toy that was created to celebrate the birth.
You can also bring along toys and Kitty will be happy to speak about the story behind their design and you are welcome to share the story of the journey you and the toy have shared and its significance."
And if you have any patients requiring attention and expertise, then bring them along as I'll be pleased to admit them for surgery.

Warning people using phone number 0481610826 have spent most of the afternoon and evening pretending to be my son and asking for money to be sent. I tested them to see how far they would go and they spent several hours sending text messages. So share and beware.

Does anyone recognise these photos

These photographs were left on the counter in the shop by a customer a few years ago now. Every now and then we put out a call to see if anyone recognises them. They were taken in 1976 and on the back of the photos are names of people. If these are your photographs or you know who may own them send us a message. Thank you.

Another update on Duwi Dog. Yesterday I took him on a good walk. He is almost back to his old self. We are so thankful that the surgery was such a success.
