📚🌈 BOOK WEEK & GRANDFRIENDS DAY AT HILL TOP! 🌈📚

There really is no place like Hill Top! ❤️🏡

What a wonderful day we had celebrating Book Week and Grandfriends Day with our students, families and community. The creativity on display was incredible, with so many amazing costumes bringing favourite books and characters to life! 📖✨

Our staff even followed the yellow brick road to Hill Top, transforming into characters from The Wizard of Oz! 🌪️👠🦁🌈 Thankfully, everyone made it back from Oz in time to enjoy the celebrations!

One of the most special parts of the day was welcoming so many grandparents, grandfriends, parents, carers and family members into our school. Seeing our classrooms filled with visitors sharing in the learning, excitement and joy of our students was something very special.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today such a memorable celebration. Days like today remind us just how lucky we are to be part of such a connected and supportive community.

🃏➕ 3/4 Yellow is having fun with numbers!

Students have been engaging in card games designed to strengthen their understanding of place value, partitioning and number sense.

Developing strong number sense helps students understand how numbers relate to one another, recognise patterns and select effective strategies when solving mathematical problems. These hands-on activities encourage students to explain their thinking, test their ideas and build confidence as mathematicians—all while learning through play!

🌟 Celebrating Our Wonderful P&C Volunteers 🌟

Last Monday afternoon, Lisa, Jess and Sarah proudly represented the Hill Top P&C Association at the 2026 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards.

We are incredibly proud of this well-deserved nomination and the wonderful work our P&C does to support our students, staff and wider school community. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to every parent, carer and community member who generously contributes their time, energy and ideas to the P&C. Your support makes such a positive difference at Hill Top Public School.

The NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards are presented by The Centre for Volunteering, a not-for-profit organisation with more than 50 years of experience supporting and championing volunteering across NSW.

Our P&C is always looking for more volunteers! Whether you can help regularly or occasionally, every contribution is valued. If you are interested in getting involved, please reach out to our friendly front office team.

📈 Attendance is on the rise at Hill Top! 📈

We are delighted to see our whole-school attendance improve for the second week in a row as we begin to put the winter bugs and illnesses behind us.

Our attendance for Week 7 reached 91.9%, we are just 0.1% away from our school target of 92%! This positive upward trend is a wonderful reflection of the efforts of our students and families.

Every day at school provides another opportunity to learn, connect and grow. Let’s keep this momentum going, Hill Top!

🏃‍♀️ Razorback Zone Athletics Carnival 🏃‍♂️

Yesterday, students from Hill Top Public School proudly represented our school at the Razorback Zone Athletics Carnival.

Every student gave their events their very best effort and demonstrated wonderful patience and sportsmanship while waiting to compete. The sun was shining, and we could not be prouder of the way our students embraced this opportunity and truly ran with it! 💙

A special thank you to our team manager, Mrs Thiess, and to Mr McCormack, who assisted with the shot put event on the field throughout the day.

We also sincerely thank the parents and carers who transported and supported our students. Your assistance helped make this wonderful opportunity possible.

💙 School Administration and Support Staff Recognition Week 💙

There are simply no words that could ever fully express the gratitude we have for our extraordinary School Administration and Support Staff at Hill Top Public School, but this week, we want to try.

Mrs Winder, Mrs Purdon, Mrs Canning, Mrs Eggins, Mrs Schmidt, Mrs Hunter, Mrs Gorman and Mrs Little each bring something incredibly special to our school. Their kindness, patience, compassion and unwavering commitment are felt in every corner of Hill Top.

They are the reassuring voices at the end of the phone, the helping hands when someone needs support and the familiar faces who make our students feel safe, known and valued. They work tirelessly alongside our teaching staff, often quietly and behind the scenes, to ensure our school runs smoothly and every child has the opportunity to learn, belong and thrive.

They celebrate our students’ successes, provide comfort during difficult moments and step forward without hesitation whenever help is needed. The trust and relationships they build with our children, families and staff make an immeasurable difference every single day.

Our school would simply not be the same without this remarkable team. We see the care you give, we value the work you do, and we are deeply grateful for the heart you bring to Hill Top.
