Beach 5s Australia & New Zealand Sports Medicine Australia

Today, Spartans Rugby delivered the first of its Sports Trainer courses for veterans and serving Defence members across South East Queensland.

Hosted by the Spartans in partnership with Sports Medicine Australia, the course qualified participants as Level 1 Sports Trainers - enabling them to support future Spartans activities while also contributing to community sporting clubs and events where they live.

Participants travelled to Toowoomba from Brisbane, the local region and even Bathurst in New South Wales to complete the training.

This is the first of many courses the Spartans intend to deliver for veterans and serving Defence members as we continue creating opportunities through education, qualifications and community sport.

A massive thank you to Patrick our Sports Medicine Australia instructor, for delivering such a professional and engaging course to the team.

The Spartans are proud to welcome Bel's Framing Studio back on board for 2026–2027!

Bells Framing have supported the Spartans for several years, providing outstanding framing services for our presentation jerseys, memorabilia, charity auctions and raffles. Their quality work has helped turn some special pieces of Spartans history into fantastic fundraising opportunities for the club and our veteran community.

The Spartans Rugby Club is continuing to recruit players for the launch of our Women’s Team as we build towards an exciting 2027 season.

We’re looking for current and former serving members of the Australian Defence Force, and other recognised Military veterans who want to be part of something special. Whether you’re an experienced representative player, a social rugby player, or you’re looking to return to the game after time away, all standards and levels of experience are welcome.

Every veteran knows one of the first things many of us blokes do when we leave the military... we grow a beard! After years of clean-shaven inspections, it's almost a rite of passage.

That's why the Spartans Rugby Club is proud to announce Jericho Australia as an official supporter and sponsor throughout our 2026–2027 Summer of Beach Rugby and 7's campaign.
