‘What they’ll find is a super system that’s been pretty good at opening member accounts, collecting monthly contributions and investing for a 7 per cent or 8 per cent a year return, but terribly behind on the next big challenge: switching those members to retirement.’

That's the final stitch on our 2026 Quilt & Craft Show, and what an awesome success it has been!

Firstly, we'd like to acknowledge our People's Choice Runner-Up, Margaret Duke, who recently called in to receive her certificate and prize. Congratulations, Margaret! 👏

A special mention must also go to the Wacky Houses Village Quilt Raffle, lovingly handcrafted by the talented River Heads Quilters, which raised an incredible $2,420 on its own. What a fantastic contribution to this year's fundraising efforts! 🏠🧵❤️

We'd also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Derek, whose dedication and craftsmanship saw him painstakingly build an entirely new set of quilt stands for this year's show. These stands beautifully showcased the quilts on display and were admired by exhibitors and visitors alike. Thank you, Derek, for your time, skill and commitment to helping make this year's event such a success. 👏

This year's success would not have been possible without the incredible support of so many people and organisations. A huge thank you to our major sponsor, Hervey Bay RSL, and to Handyhire, Yarrilee State School, Morgan Sewing Centre, Fraser Coast FM107.5, Believe It or Not, Fraser Coast Chorus, Dewdrop Inn Patchwork & Craft, our generous stallholders who donated raffle prizes, River Heads Quilters, Kay, who lovingly onsold her relatives quilting collection and donated us the proceeds in their memory, Hervey Bay Quilters, our volunteers, staff, and the talented quilters who displayed their beautiful creations, demonstrated their skills, and shared their passion with visitors throughout the weekend.

Most importantly, thank you to the 700+ visitors who attended the show. Your support helped make this event such a success, even with the challenge of a last-minute venue change.

Together, we have raised an amazing $22,000, which will help us continue supporting our community and the people we serve. ❤️
