🌸Flower Show Success! 🏆

Our school was proud to enter a range of cut flowers in this year’s Herberton Flower Show, including hibiscus, callistemon, kalanchoe and marigolds.

We were thrilled to come away with four second-place awards! 👏🌸

It’s wonderful to see the beautiful flowers grown and cared for around our school grounds recognised at this much-loved community event. A big thank you to everyone who helps keep our gardens looking so neat and tidy! 🌿

💛 R U OK? Day at our school! 💛
Yesterday, Thursday 10 September our students took some time at lunchtime with Miss T, our Student Wellbeing Officer. The focus? Slow down, connect & check in.

From board games 🎲 and friendship bracelets 🧵 to Conversation Bingo 💬, our lunchtime activities created opportunities for students to speak to other students, strengthen friendships and — most importantly — start conversations.

Because sometimes asking “Are you OK?” starts with simply sitting beside someone, having a laugh, and showing them they’re not alone. 💛

Connect. Check in. Listen. Ask. You never know how much a simple conversation might mean. 🌻

Each year, our talented Herberton State School students have the wonderful opportunity to showcase their creativity and hard work at the Herberton Flower Show. 🌼

From artwork to hands on projects, it’s fantastic to see our students’ talents proudly displayed for the wider community to enjoy. The bread boxes were a real hit this year, with some fantastic feedback from community members.

A very special thank you to the Herberton Garden Group and all the amazing volunteers who work tirelessly to bring this much-loved community event to life each year. Your dedication and support help make the Flower Show such a wonderful experience for our students and our community. 👏

🧁 Sweet Success in Food and Fire Production 🍰

Year 7 Food and Fire Production students had a sweet time in the kitchen recently, learning the skills involved in making small cakes. Students enjoyed getting hands-on with measuring, mixing and baking as they created their tasty treats.

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, building their confidence and developing valuable food preparation skills along the way.
