Hebden Rural Fire Service

Hebden brigade was called out to a local property to a excavator on fire. Unfortunately we could not save the machinery but kept it contained so it didn't spread. Was great to see other brigades arrive on scene to assist our small brigade.

Hebden 9 on scene at a grass fire on Hebden Road and New Engand Hwy today. Was great to see the brigades working together to extinguish the blaze. Well done to all that helped. Very appreciated.

I just spoke to Lori from Liddell Mine and she advised they currently have a combustion fire going in one of the pits.
No action required at this stage as it is under control.

Meeting cancelled at this stage.

Good evening all,

I was out at Bulga today collecting the AGM paperwork so now we are ready to go.

Friday the 18th of June at 1800 our general meeting will commence followed by the AGM.

My plan for the evening is for us to get all the serious stuff out of the way and then food and drinks will be available for all members and their families.

I will need actual numbers as I will be doing the grocery shopping for the gathering. BYO alcohol but there will be a selection of soft drinks.

As most of you will have heard, I have sold my property and will be moving back into town with my son. Therefore I will be after a member to take over as the secretary of the Brigade. All other positions will be up for grabs too.

Can we please borrow the BBQ from the Hall for the night?

Everyone is welcome to come down and join in even if they are not members. Just make sure I get everyones RSVP.

It will be nice to catch up with you all before I leave.

Yesterday morning Amanda and I join Mel and her awesome team for some morning tea and a BBQ at the old Ravensworth School remains.
We were fortunate enough to hear stories from residents of times gone by.

A big thankyou to Mt Owen/Glendell operations , Glencore. for their wonderful donation of goods to help our little brigade set up for the future. With this wonderful donation we can set ourselves up to do our own training days and be better prepared when called out to emergencies.
