Today, four Year 10 students from Heathcote High School — Charli S, Jade W, Zane G and Ruby M travelled to Woolooware High School to take part in the Walk for Respectful Relationships Public Speaking Learning Day.
The Walk for Respectful Relationships is a Sutherland Shire community event that empowers young people to use their voices to speak out against domestic and family violence and gender-based inequality. This year’s theme is “Have the courage to call it out. Speak out and Help out!”
A huge congratulations to all four students for presenting speeches today and sharing their unique perspectives with such courage and conviction. 👏
🌟 Charli has been invited to present her speech at the main event, following her personal, passionate and poignant insights into respectful relationships and the importance of speaking up.
🌟 Jade’s recorded speech will also be played at the event in front of local dignitaries and fellow students during the main community walk ceremony. Her powerful speech explored the influence of social media and the impact it can have on attitudes and relationships.
🌟 Zane and Ruby also delivered engaging and thought-provoking speeches, offering unique perspectives on the manosphere and the statistics surrounding domestic and family violence.
We are incredibly proud of all four students for having the courage to use their voices, challenge harmful attitudes and contribute to an important community conversation.
