Heathcote High School - Official

Heathcote High School - Official We aim for excellence, provide and champion opportunities, and celebrate the successes of our students. We are a UNSW Gateway school.

Our community stretches beyond the classroom and is a privilege to be a part of. Pls follow DET NSW social media rules. Heathcote High is a community, comprehensive school which seeks to provide a caring and supportive environment for students and staff, while pursuing excellence in learning, teaching, welfare, sporting and cultural programs. A recognised strength of our school is a support unit f

or students with disabilities. In the area of outdoor education (including the Duke of Edinburgh program) the school is regarded highly across the state. Our school's code of behaviour is as follows: Make learning your number one priority; respect all members of the school and their property; respect everyone's right to learn without disruption; behave sensibly and safely; and take care of the environment. We as a community believe in sharing the responsibility for ensuring that our students are well educated, happy and responsible young Australians. This year we have become an associated school with the University of Sydney. This gives our teachers and students access to the wide range of resources of this university.

Winter Sleepout Fundraiser!

Our senior students expressed an interest to give back to their community and we decided to follow their lead. However, we need your help... Whilst our teenagers are full of community spirit, their pockets are not necessarily as deep. If you have anything to spare this Winter, we are raising funds for Vinnies and awareness for the people who are sleeping rough.

Our students will be experiencing the tough conditions for themselves and gaining empathy for those who don't have a choice to return somewhere safe and warm.

As you can imagine, we are incredibly proud of all of our students who have taken this intiative. We know it will be an unforgettable experience. Thank you to everyone who has already donated.

When our 12s lock in, itโ€™s a thing of beauty.

After receiving their Task 3 results, individual feedback, whole cohort feedback and reflection of our C.O.P.S. strategy, English Standard moved on to poem 3 โ€œHarbour Duskโ€, to continue their Close Study of Literature. This is such an excellent group of learners. They know the drill of annotation and get it done every single time.

Letโ€™s go, Year 12. You give us so many reasons to be proud of you. (Are we allowed to merit an entire courseโ€ฆ?)

On Wednesday, the HHS TAS Faculty's Home Economics team hosted the Year 6 Global Bites Enrichment Program, where students explored global food equity, nutrition, and staple foods through a range of hands-on learning experiences.

A highlight of the day was working in the kitchens to prepare fried rice, a simple, affordable, nutritious, and versatile meal enjoyed around the world.

Students developed food preparation skills, learned safe kitchen practices, and gained confidence as they worked together to create a delicious dish from basic ingredients. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ

Once again, we are happy to report back to our Primary Partners, that their representatives were exceptional to work with and we are looking forward to seeing them again soon!

Our girls were treated to an elite coaching experience in May and they were put through their defensive paces. Gav is the coach of the Cronulla Sharks Women's NSW premiership team and also coaches at the Helensburgh Tigers.

Gav taught the students how to safely execute both two-person and three-person tackles, and the girls were sensational! They progressed so quickly that the session advanced to more complex drills which is a testament to just how hard they worked in the two sessions.

What stood out most was the incredible resilience every single student showed throughout the session. It wasn't always easy, but they embraced every challenge with a smile on their face and gave it everything they had.

To top off a brilliant day, the girls also received their brand-new training uniforms which they will be proudly wearing every Thursday at training.

Thanks for your time, Gav! Our team are still talking about it.
