Across two nights in Sydney’s CBD, 34 suspect vehicles were selected for inspection based on what we could see and hear.

After noise testing we issued:

👉 25 defect notices

👉 23 fines totalling $8,450

The compliance blitz in Barangaroo with NSW Police Force and Transport for NSW follows multiple community reports of noisy vehicles in the area.

🚨 SCAM WARNING – Threats for Apple Gift Cards 🚨

Sydney City Police are seeing a rise in a scam where offenders befriend victims online, get hold of their personal details, then threaten violence unless the victim buys Apple gift cards and sends the codes.

These scammers often:
• Target members of the Asian community
• Ask for ID, photos or an address early in the conversation
• Claim they will “send people over” if the victim doesn’t pay
• Demand hundreds or thousands in Apple gift cards

Do NOT share personal details with people you meet online.
Do NOT send money or gift cards to anyone making threats.
Contact police immediately on 131 444, or Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
