Hawker Swimming Pool Elders Weather will be used to monitor weather conditions for pool operating hours.

Council are continuing to experience issues with our pool filtration and chlorination equipment at the Hawker Swimming Pool. Staff have continued to work on the issues to try to resolve them, however to no avail.

Unfortunately this means that at the present time we are unable to open the pool to the public until we are able to provide the level of safe swimming environment that is required.

One of the issues is the availability of pool servicing companies available and willing to come to rural remote areas such as ours, however we are now in the process of contracting a firm to come up to provide a fix to the issues, and we are hoping this occurs early next week.

Until that time, we regret to advise that we will have to keep the Hawker pool closed at this point until we have implemented the required repairs, we aim to have the pool operating in readiness for the School Splash Day late next week and ready for school holidays.

Due to the ongoing malfunction of the chlorination system at the Hawker Swimming Pool, Council has decided to delay the opening of the pool until Monday 1 December 2025, to allow us to ensure the water is safe for public use.

Council thanks the Hawker Community for their patience as we continue to fix the technical issues with a faulty pump at the Hawker Swimming Pool.

We have installed a new pump and will work over the next day or two to stabilise the pool and get it ready for swimming.

We regret to advise that the pool will be closed on Thursday 20 November and Friday 21 November whilst we complete the maintenance and chemical balancing of the pool and we hope to have the pool ready for swimming on the weekend, so watch this space for further updates.

The Hawker Swimming Pool will be closed tomorrow Tuesday 18 November, and possibly Wednesday 19 November due to a technical issue with the pump. Stay tuned for updates.

To make it easier for our community to find important updates in one place, we’ll be consolidating several Council-run pages into one main Council page. This includes the Quorn and Hawker Swimming Pool pages.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll begin transitioning all updates to the main page, with information still shared across all pages during the changeover. The dedicated Pool pages will be permanently closed as of Monday 8 December 2025.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to create a clearer, more central point for community information. Stay tuned and make sure you "follow" our main Council page for all future updates!

Please note that due to the low forecast temperature, the Hawker Swimming Pool will be closed today, Sunday 16 November.

Please note that due to temperature forecast being 25 or under and further maintenance being required to fix a fault, the Hawker Swimming Pool will be closed on Saturday, and based on current weather forecast it is likely to be closed on Sunday and Monday also.
