🔬 Science in K Red

This week in Science, the students in K Red have been exploring materials and their properties. The children investigated a range of everyday materials and worked together in groups to identify and describe their characteristics.

Using their senses to make observations, the students compared different materials and discussed what they noticed about each one. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and teamwork as they developed their observation skills and scientific vocabulary.

State Knockout Soccer Update

A huge congratulations to our State Knockout Soccer Team on their fantastic effort today against King Park. While the final score was 9–2, our players never stopped competing, showing great determination, resilience and sportsmanship from the first whistle to the last.

Taking on a strong opposition, the team continued to work hard, support one another and represent our school with pride. Their positive attitude and willingness to keep battling throughout the match is something they should be very proud of.

Well done to all players for their commitment throughout the knockout competition. You have been wonderful ambassadors for our school and have demonstrated the values of teamwork, perseverance and respect every step of the way.

We are proud of you all!

All In for Reconciliation

This week, students have been recognising National Reconciliation Week through classroom learning and collaborative activities that promote respect, understanding and connection.

National Reconciliation Week is an opportunity to reflect on how we can all contribute to reconciliation in our everyday lives. As part of the week, students participated in activities that highlighted ways we can be “All In” for reconciliation through kindness, inclusion and respect for First Nations peoples and cultures.

Stage 3 Voices Shine in Public Speaking Competition

Congratulations to all Stage 3 students who participated in this year’s Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition.

The quality of prepared speeches was outstanding, making the judges’ decisions incredibly difficult this year. Students spoke with confidence and passion, sharing thoughtful ideas and perspectives on a range of multicultural topics. We commend all speakers for their preparation, courage and effort.

A special congratulations to Millie Blunden and Sophie Lysaght, who were selected as this year’s winners and will now progress to the Local Finals. We wish them the very best as they represent our school in the next stage of the competition.

Nature-Inspired Playground Designers!

Our students have been exploring biomimicry – learning how nature can inspire innovative solutions to real-world problems.

As part of a design challenge, they identified areas of our school playground that could be improved and investigated how nature’s designs, from spider webs to tree canopies, could inspire new features. Students photographed their chosen playground spaces and used AI technology to generate concept images that superimposed their nature-inspired designs onto the existing environment.

These concept images will now guide the next stage of the project as students create detailed playground dioramas using recycled materials.

We can't wait to see their imaginative ideas take shape!
