🟢🟢🏆 GYMEA BAY DOES IT AGAIN! 🏆🟢🟢

What an incredible morning we had at the Brighton Beachside Dash!

Our Gymea Bay runners turned up proudly in their school colours, ready to run their little hearts out! We kicked off the morning with a team warm-up before heading to the start line early to secure prime position for the big race.
Every single one of our runners gave it their all, and we could not be prouder of the determination, enthusiasm and incredible team spirit they showed out on the course.

And to top off an already fantastic morning… GYMEA BAY CAME AWAY WITH THE WIN!

Not only did we bring home the trophy, but we also won $500 for our school!
The trophy is HUGE, and we’ll be very proud to display it alongside our Sutherland 2 Surf Schools Cup trophy!

Two events. Two trophies. One unstoppable team. 👏👏

📣👏⭐🔵🟢Celebrating Student Voices 📣👏⭐🔵🟢

Congratulations to Olivia and Koda who recently represented our school at Woolooware High School, delivering powerful speeches addressing important issues.

Both students spoke with confidence and maturity while competing alongside students from numerous schools across the area. Their efforts and preparation were evident on the day, and they should both be extremely proud of their achievements.

A special congratulations to Koda, who tied for first place and has been invited to present his speech in front of thousands of people on 25 November as part of the Walk for Respectful Relationships—an initiative dedicated to raising awareness and promoting respectful relationships and the prevention of domestic violence.

Olivia also delivered a strong, confident and thought-provoking speech and deserves great recognition for representing our school so admirably.

Well done, Olivia and Koda! We are incredibly proud of you both.👏⭐

When: Sunday, 13th September 2026 - THIS WEEKEND!
Time: 10:20am
Where: Depena Reserve, Dolls Point
Distance: 2km Dash Schools Cup Challenge- Primary
Cost: $15 per student
Who: This opportunity is open to all GBPS students.
Wear: Your Gymea Bay sports shirt and any shorts that you feel comfortable running in.

Please note that teachers will be present on the day, however, parents will hold the responsibility for ensuring their child’s safety and well-being throughout the event.
How we WIN!!!
The School Cup Challenge is awarded to the school with the fastest combined time of its three quickest runners. The winning school receives the perpetual School Cup Challenge trophy and a $500 cash prize.
There are also individual age group awards for:
Under 7 Boys
Under 7 Girls
8–9 Boys
8–9 Girls
10–12 Boys
10–12 Girls
Every participant who completes the race will receive a medal at the finish line. 🏅
