Busy Weekend for the Brigade
Today we held our Annual General Meeting, providing an opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months and recognise the dedication and commitment of our members who continue to serve our community.
We would like to thank all of our members for their ongoing support, hard work, and countless volunteer hours throughout the year. Following today’s AGM, we are pleased to advise that our Executive and Officer positions remain unchanged, providing continuity and stability as we move into another busy year of training, community engagement, and emergency response.
We are incredibly proud of the commitment our members show towards ongoing training and development. This week, three of our youngest members successfully completed the Breathing Apparatus Operator (BAO) course, qualifying today after a fun day of Live Fire training. This qualification allows members to safely operate in hazardous environments and represents a significant achievement in their firefighting journey.
Congratulations also to one of our members who successfully completed the Code of Ethics and Leading People course, as part of their Crew Leader course, further developing the leadership skills that are essential within our brigade.
These achievements highlight the dedication of our volunteers and the importance we place on continually developing our skills to ensure we are ready to respond when our community needs us most.

Gwandalan Rural Fire Brigade is always looking for community-minded people who are willing to challenge themselves, learn new skills, and serve on the frontline alongside a dedicated team of volunteers. Operational firefighters respond to bush fires, structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, storm damage, and other emergencies that impact our community.
No previous experience is necessary – all training is provided. All we ask is a willingness to learn, work as part of a team, and commit to helping others when needed.
