Guyra Lamb Show celebrates a second stellar year with strong local contenders!
Guyra, NSW — February 2026 — The Guyra Lamb Show marked its second year running with a bustling shed—approximately 42 Pens of Lambs, 26 vendors presenting 126 lambs, underscoring the region’s depth of prime lamb production and community support. This year introduced a refined format: teams exhibited on the hoof, with each producer nominating their top lamb to be split for processing and judged on the hook, offering a complete picture of genetics and management from paddock to plate.
Luke Foster was crowned Overall Champion, with the title determined by a combined assessment of hoof and hook results totalling 17 points out of a possible 20.
Class results: hoof & hook
In total there were four classes Trade (65kgs) and Exotic, broken into hoof and hook awards. Award recipients are as follows:
Trade Class (65 kg liveweight)
• Hoof
o 1st: AJ & JW Lenehan — Hoof 9 / 10
o 2nd: E&M Dawson — Hoof 8.5 / 10
• Hook
o 1st: RS & BJ Williamson — Hook 8 / 10
o 2nd: AJ & JW Lenehan — Hook 7.75 / 10
Exotic Class
• Hoof
o 1st: E&M Dawson — Hoof 8 / 10
• 2nd: Tepa Pty Ltd — Hoof 7.5 / 10
o 1st: E&M Dawson — Hook 8 / 10

Overall Champion: Luke Foster (combined hoof + hook).
By splitting teams for processing—with producers nominating their best lamb—the show delivered transparent, data-rich feedback to entrants, aligning live ring impressions with carcase performance for a practical benchmark of market readiness.
The top carcase in each class was then auctioned off on Saturday night at the show, with all proceeds going to future-proofing the Guyra Lamb Show.
A special thanks to the Judges, Brian Wellings on the hoof & Demi Lollback on the hook
