James Nesbitt has laid in an unmarked resting place for the last 150 years. Now, family members are saying it is time to appropriately mark his Heritage Listed Grave. What a captivating presentation and what larrikans the three adventurous young 24year olds must have been!
Snakes, boats, goannas, w***y willie's, greeted like rock stars at every river town, getting stranded and lost in a swamp without their boat for two days!
They must have had a blast.
A huge thank you to Herbie and Lyn O'Flynn for making the trip to Gundagai for the 100th anniversary and sharing it with us.
Also to the Gundagai Historical Museum and Gundagai Library for making it possible.

Gundagai's History Week continues to impress with John Veitch's Southside tour proving to be another successful event.
A big thanks to our knowledgable and gracious tour guide, John who will be 99 years young this year. His experience and phenominal memory are unrivalled and we are so lucky to have had the opportunity to not only hear his recollections but to record the tour for future generations. Thanks Lena Elphick for videoing and thanks to Anne Carpenter for organising the bus and keeping the tour on track.
Our appreciation also goes to bus driver Phil for being such an obliging chauffeur :)

Congratulations to Rachel Graham and all those involved on the successful Adjungbilly Cemetery Plaque unveilling held on Tuesday. The weather was perfect for this momentous occasion, the speeches went wonderfully, morning tea was a delight and the company was outstanding.
Special thanks to the Bongongo school children for their dedications to the day and their recognition of the importance of our history.

** PROGRAM UPDATE** The Gundagai Flood Tour (2pm Wednesday ) will now be held at the Gundagai Museum due to the gloomy weather forecast and the fact that we don't want the flood tour to be flooded out!
If the weather improves we may move out to the flood marker. Otherwise we will enjoy the museum's hospitality and the flood presentation nice and dry!

Also just a reminder that the only event that has been cancelled is the Coolac History Crawl.

We regret to inform our followers that owing to the most inclement and unruly weather, the much-anticipated Coolac History Crawl, scheduled for the morn of Wednesday the 10th, has been regretfully cancelled.

We are, however, delighted to declare that all other History Week events remain firmly on course!

Of particular note, the unveiling of the Adjungbilly Cemetery Plaque shall proceed as planned on the morrow at 10am at the Cemetery, and promises to be a most distinguished and memorable affair indeed.

This is an updated program.

Gundagai Librarys first Film and Sound archive screening this morning has successfully brought our History Week celebrations to a close.

The screening included a chronological walk through different events of Gundagai's past with a two part black and white silent film from 1920, a colour silent piece from Anzac Day 1960, another sound and colour video from 1988 and a short sound recording with still pictures, from a local resident recalling the days of the old dance halls.

Thank you to everyone that helped and to all that attended the activities and events over the past week for
