Gunalda Rural Fire Brigade

This coming Sunday the 21st of February Gunalda Rural Fire Brigade will be holding a general meeting. The meeting will commence at 1pm, all brigade members and members of the public are welcome to attend.

This meeting will take place under a Covid safe plan, and all attendees are asked and encouraged to practice social distancing and hand sanitization.

🇦🇺🚒😔 We send our condolences to their family, colleagues and friends may they Rest In Peace.

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) confirms that two NSW RFS volunteer Firefighters have died tonight near Buxton, in south western Sydney.

The deaths occurred following a vehicle rollover earlier this evening during Firefighting operations. It is believed the vehicle, while travelling in convey, hit a tree before rolling off the road.

Another three Firefighters have received injuries as a result of the accident.

Our thoughts are with all the Firefighter’s family, friends and fellow brigade members.

This is an absolutely devastating event in what has already been an incredibly difficult day and fire season.

The ember storm and bushfire that forced an evacuation at Peregian Beach last month, destroying one house and damaging others, followed a similar blaze at the other end of the Sunshine Coast two years earlier.

Gunalda RFB will be holding our Brigade meeting a week late on sunday 24th November at 1 p.m. due to the fires that our members have been fighting the last 9 days. Well done and a huge thank you to all our members who have pitched in and helped with the fires and maintenance. Also a huge thankyou to all our residence for being fire safe.
