The NSW SES Griffith Unit is excited to have the opportunity to participate in the NSW SES Youth Internship Program for Year 9 and 10 students. This excellent initiative encourages young people to step outside their comfort zones while providing valuable opportunities to develop professional skills, gain real-world experience, and build confidence for their future careers.

The program runs for 10 weeks commencing in Term 3 on a Wednesday afternoon from 4.30pm - 6.30pm. Training lasts for 90mins with a BBQ at the end of the night.

There is no cost to attend this program.

At the completion of the NSW SES Youth Internship Program, a graduation ceremony will be held where a Senior Officer of the NSW SES may attend as well as the Local Council, State and Federal Members, school representatives and families of the Youth Intern.

Last week, Emma and Allanna King competed in the local finals for the NSW Plain English Speaking Award, with Allanna impressing the judges enough to advance to the semi-final in Sydney in a couple of weeks.

This National Volunteer week we want give a huge shout out to our YAG volunteers! Their ideas, insight, and drive are behind so many of the youth‑focused events and initiatives you see in Griffith. You'll see them often on our page, and also at our events, as they not only volunteer their time to make our city more inclusive and fun - but also express their creativity to make our community more connected for young people. Their passion is powerful and we appreciate their efforts 💫🌟

This Reconciliation Week, we’re celebrating culture, creativity and community through art 🎨

Griffith City Council is inviting young people across the Griffith community to get involved in our Reconciliation Week Colouring-In Competition. It’s a fun and meaningful way for children to express themselves, learn about the importance of reconciliation and showcase their creativity.

Completed sheets can be dropped off at Griffith City Library or Griffith City Council Chambers.

YOUth Vision: Mosaic Mural! 🎨

We invite youth aged 12-24 to join us in creating a community mural, aimed to empower and represent youth 🤩

Each individual will get their own paint-by number tile, and when all of the canvases are joined together, they create one big mural! Pretty cool right?
