Nillumbeats are proud to announce the 2026 Youth Fest event, Skate & Create! Youth Fest is about celebrating all young people! Join us at Skate & Create as we showcase different skills and interests of our local young people!

Young people aged 12 to 25 are invited to the Diamond Creek Skate Park on Wednesday the 30th of September from 12:30pm to 3pm for an action-packed afternoon!

Whats on:
🛹 Skate, scoot and BMX workshops and comps
🎤 Get your boogie on with a live music performance
🎨Show off your creativity in art workshops
🍴 Refuel with free snacks
🏆 Show off your skills and win a prize!

This event is staffed by Nillumbik Youth and is alcohol, drug, smoke and v**e free.
Nillumbik Shire Council acknowledges the support of the Victorian Government in funding this event.

The Banyule & Nillumbik TAC L2P Program is a learner driver mentor program that helps young people (aged 16 – 21 years) who don't have access to a car or appropriate supervisor driver accrue the mandatory 120 hours of supervised driving experience needed to get a probationary licence.

Happy Wear It Purple Day!

We’ve had a purple-filled week at Nillumbik baking fun treats, wearing colourful outfits, and showing our support for LGBTQA+ young people.

Across the week Council staff and local young people have been writing messages to show LGBTIQA+ young people we see them, we support them, and are committed to creating safe inclusive spaces for everyone to thrive in.

Last week community spirit was shining bright at the Nillumbik Community Awards held at Eltham Community and Reception Centre.

A massive congratulations to Esme Johnson, who was awarded Nillumbik Young Citizen of the Year!

Esme is an inspiring young environmental leader involved in Friends of Warrandyte State Park, Edendale Youth Enviro Team, Research Junior CFA and so much more. Her enthusiasm, innovation and commitment are helping build a more environmentally conscious future for Nillumbik.

Congratulations also to Lexi Patman, who received a high commendation, as well as Tahlia Edmonds, Elliot Thomas, and Advik Palta for being nominated.

If you’re a budding writer, photographer, or graphic designer, or just enjoy learning new creative skills, this program is for you.

We’re looking for young people age 15-25 to help create this year’s edition of our youth-led zine, The Wrap Up. All participants will receive a voucher as recognition for their contributions.

This week Nillumbik Youth Council elected their new Youth Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the remainder of their two year term.

Congratulations to Aashini Rastogi and Tahlia Edmonds for being elected Youth Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively.
