The Stable roof has finally been rectified, with new guttering and downpipes now in place, and the stormwater works underway.

Meanwhile, the scaffolders are hard at work, carefully dismantling and relocating the scaffolding. The next stage see's the operation move across to the eastern side of the Castle, opening the way for the next and one of the most challenging parts of this enormous restoration project.

Dear friends of Iandra,

Some of you may know, and some may not, that Iandra Castle has been closed to the public as we undertake a major rectification project.

If you’re local, you may have already noticed a glimpse of the new roof beginning to take shape — but what you see from the ground is only a small part of what is happening behind the scenes.

The project is being completed in five major stages, with the fourth currently underway.

The rectification work is far more than simply repairing an old building. Iandra is a remarkable piece of history, and every part of the project requires careful consideration of the building, its materials and construction.

All works are being undertaken in accordance with strict NSW heritage requirements, ensuring that the historical integrity of the Castle is respected.

Over the coming weeks, we will begin sharing photographs from the beginning of this extraordinary project.

We’ll take you behind the walls, beneath the roof and into the hidden spaces that have remained unseen by the public for generations. We’ll expose the Castle’s bones and reveal the incredible complexity of restoring a building of this age and significance.

By sharing this project, we're hoping to provide greater insight into what it takes to preserve a place like Iandra Castle for generations to come — we’re inviting you to join the journey with us. Stay tuned!

Following a couple of wonderful Open Houses, Iandra Castle will now close for the next few months while important maintenance works occur.

At this stage, we are uncertain when our next Open Houses will take place, however we anticipate we will be welcoming visitors back in Autumn 2027.

A huge thank you to all our visitors, volunteers, vendors and supporters who continue to help preserve and celebrate the history of Iandra Castle.

To everyone lucky enough to visit Iandra Castle today, Sunday the 26th I hope you had a wonderful time. The weather certainly turned it on for us.

The number of visitors took us a little by surprise, as it did our vendors, but it made the day all the more special.

A big thank you to Spackys Coffee, Rotary Young for the delicious BBQ, Regional Lifestyle Magazine, and Ballina Clash Winery CCC Club for their work with Crossley and Sing Australia, which added beautifully to the atmosphere.

To all our passionate volunteers, your dedication never goes unnoticed and is always deeply appreciated.

And finally, to the 700+ visitors who came through today: thank you for the respect you showed, your interest in our heritage, and for recognising its significance. Not a scrap of rubbish was left behind, just a little dust.

We couldn’t have asked for better.
