As we approach the end of the term, we still have some exciting events coming up this week!

High Jump (½ Day) – Tuesday 16 June
Selected students in the 9–12 years age group will participate in the High Jump event.

School Photos – Wednesday 17 June
Please ensure students come to school in the correct uniform and ready for their photos.

Athletics Carnival – Thursday 18 June
Students should bring a hat, water bottle, and wear suitable clothing for a full day of activities and fun.

Please note that positions within the casual pool are offered on an as-needed basis and do not guarantee ongoing or regular employment.

✔️Hold a current Paid Working with Children Blue Card
✔️Successfully complete a Police Criminal History Check prior to commencement

📣 We're Building a Casual Teacher Aide Pool!
Waraburra State School is looking to build a pool of reliable and enthusiastic Casual Teacher Aides who can be called upon as needed to support our students and staff.
As a valued member of our team, you'll contribute to the provision of a quality education by assisting and supporting teachers in and out of the classroom.
We’re looking for people who:
✔️ Hold a current paid Blue Card
✔️ Are available to work on short notice (Monday to Friday)
✔️ Can work from 8:30am to 3:00pm as required
✔️ Have experience in supporting students with literacy and numeracy
✔️ Are confident working with students with complex behaviours and disabilities
✔️ Can work independently and as part of a team
✔️ Have prior experience in a school or similar environment (preferred)

🍔🌯 Exciting news! Miss Stevie is back in the tuckshop and has refreshed our Tuckshop Menu! 🎉

There are plenty of delicious options available, including homemade meals, burgers, wraps, snacks, and weekly specials. Be sure to check out the updated menu and keep an eye on our page for sweet treats and special offers throughout the term.

Don't forget that all tuckshop orders must be placed online via Qkr! before 9:00am.

Just a reminder that Thursday is the Rockhampton Show Holiday, so there will be no school on this day. 🎡

For families arriving before school starts, please note that students arriving before 8:15am are to wait in the designated supervised area as outlined in this week's flyer.

💪🏆 Waraburra State School Push-Up Challenge! 🏆💪

From 3 June to 24 June, Waraburra State School students and teachers will be taking part in the Push-Up Challenge!

Throughout the challenge, participants will earn points for their sporting houses, with all points contributing to the overall Athletics Day Sports Carnival tally. There will also be numerous push-up activities and fun challenges taking place around the school during this time.

This challenge is not only about fitness and teamwork—it is also about supporting a great cause. We are raising funds for Headspace, a national youth mental health foundation that helps thousands of young people access vital support through online and phone counselling services, vocational programs, and school-based initiatives across Australia.

There will be special rewards throughout the challenge for students who demonstrate outstanding enthusiasm, positive participation, and excellent sportsmanship.
