Vale Bruce Macdonald who recently passed away aged 95 years. Bruce's association with the Goulburn Historic Waterworks spanned more than 50 years. He was our first volunteer restoring the Appleby Beam Engine in 1957/58. It was a labour of love and with the support from his wife Dorothy, family and friends and some more enlightened members of Goulburn City Council the Appleby operated once again under steam for the first time in 40 years. There is little doubt without Bruce's dedication, skill and sheer tenacity the Appleby would have been lost to us forever. If you'd like to read more about Bruce's, Museum of Historic Engines 1958-1975 please visit the Goulburn Historic Waterworks during opening hours from Saturday to Tuesday 10am-4pm.
