A bold new bright purple symbol has launched to do for reuse what the chasing arrows did for recycling. The result of a year-long global design initiative led by PR3:

The Global Alliance to Advance Reuse, the winning design came from a Colombian creative agency and was selected from 236 submissions across 29 countries, market-tested in 17 countries for distinctiveness, memorability and cultural adaptability.

The symbol is designed to appear on reusable cups, foodware, containers, bottles and cleaning products — alongside collection bins, signage and delivery vehicles — to make reuse networks more visible and accessible.

To guard against greenwashing, its use is tied to PR3's marking and labelling standards.
