The Prep/1 class have been super busy this term! We have thoroughly enjoyed participating in swimming lessons, learning about the important role of police officers in our community, and practising teamwork through a range of fun classroom activities.

A key focus during our Social and Emotional Learning sessions has been understanding and managing emotions such as excitement, as well as learning the difference between small and big problems. The students have shown fantastic growth in using strategies to respond positively and support one another throughout the term.

We are very proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork, and resilience the students continue to show each day!

🍪 🎨 ✂️ 🧶 ⏱️ 🤩 🥳

Today our students took part in a new Friday tradition at GDPS!

For the last hour of the day, students were split into multi-age groups to spend time together, build connections, and enjoy exploring a new activity or hobby.

Students had the opportunity to vote for the activity they were most interested in, helping create a fun and engaging way to finish the week. We can’t wait to see these groups continue to grow and thrive throughout the term!

Term 2’s activities are: cooking, crochet, jewellery making, art club, box construction, frisbee golf, and minute to win it!

Our Prep Open Day is coming up next week! We’re thrilled to invite future Prep families to visit GDPS

When? Thursday 14th May - 9:30am & 5:00pm sessions
Come along and:
- Find out about what our amazing small school has to offer

We have had an exciting week in grade 2/3, along with swimming lessons 2 days, we have been practicing graphing our data into different types of tables and graphs. We graphed the traffic that passed the school, graphed the Smartie colours in our box, the type of Tiny Teddies in a bag and asked our own question to record in a data table.
The start of the week also started with the creation of a “to scale” solar system model using toilet paper - but just as we finished and were showing it off, the wind whipped up and blew it everywhere.
