With heavy hearts we said goodbye to a very special bird today…

This afternoon our beloved Barn Owl, Star, passed away at the ripe age of 20. Alongside his brother Twinkle, he has been an integral part of our family since 2007 when they arrived with downy-covered heads.

Star had many adventures with Mark over the years and was a great ambassador for his species. We know he will forever have a special place in many people’s hearts, and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Rest well sweet Star. ❤️🌈

We've been busting to share some very exciting news with you!! Meet our latest addition to the bird show team, our 15 day old Black-breasted Buzzard ♥️.

Some of you may recall that our Black-breasted Buzzard pair have bred previously but never managed to raise a chick. So this year, we decided they couldn't be trusted! We removed their eggs and transferred them to an incubator, and this chick is the result 🎉.

There is only one other breeding pair of captive Black-breasted Buzzards in the world. So this little one is a very important addition to the captive population. We'll keep you posted on its progress.
