Hi Glenwood, just a reminder even though conditions maybe favourable to burn. If your fire is to be larger than 2m in any one direction or multiple simultaneous fires you must get a permit to protect yourself and the community. An application for a permit is free which can be obtained online or from the brigade mailbox and the completed signed application needs to be sent to the Fire Warden for approval with conditions which must be followed.

RFSQ Week commenced on Sunday the 26th and is an annual celebration recognizing the 28,000 volunteers across approximately 1,400 rural fire brigades in Queensland. These volunteers play a vital role in protecting lives, property, and the environment, responding to incidents, supporting bushfire preparedness, and engaging with their communities year-round. The week highlights their commitment, teamwork, and professionalism, and provides opportunities for communities to connect with local brigades and partner agencies.
If you would like to be a RFSQ volunteer, please reach out or attend one of our fortnightly Thursday training nights at the station from 1830.
With our community growing and demographic slightly changing our members would like to thank our community in large being responsible with fire mitigation on their properties. With the upcoming higher fire risk approaching our organisation is wanting everyone to remain vigilant and respectful of their neighbours when using fire to mitigate hazards on their properties. The brigade is always willing to assist with guidance or boots on the ground if conditions are suitable. Remain safe Glenwood.

4 of our brigade members attended Glenwood State School under 8’s day today. We assisted the students with accessing the inside of the cabin pushing buttons and squirting water out of the hoses. Much fun was had by all.

21/02/2026

The brigade will be at the station from mid morning. There will be representatives if anyone requires advice regarding hazard reduction on their properties or interested in volunteering their time for our community with the brigade.

As we are all aware that our surrounding environment is drying out, and we hope anyone considering doing any burning on their property in a heap smaller than 2m in any one direction to be vigilant. The fire to be constantly supervised and have a means of extinguishing or containment if weather conditions become unfavourable. If you need to burn anything bigger, please contact your local fire warden on this link https://www.fire.qld.gov.au/safety-education/using-fire-outdoors/fire-wardens and complete an applicationhttps://www.fire.qld.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-04/CSO_010-FORM.pdf and send to your fire warden. In Glenwood our Fire Warden is Clinton Schultz 0400164394. We don't want Fire Bans, but it is up to the community to be responsible so we can keep using fire as a means of keeping our properties safe.
