Drop & Go and Bus Zone Reminder

A friendly reminder to all families about the safe use of our Drop & Go area at the beginning and end of the school day.

Our bus services has recently experienced difficulties accessing the designated Bus Loading Zone because vehicles have been stopping or waiting in this area. It is essential that the bus zone remains completely clear so buses can safely enter, load students and depart.

Please remember:

Drop & Go is for quick student drop-off in the morning and collection in the afternoon.
Please enter the Drop & Go area correctly and do not stop or wait in the Bus Loading Zone.
Drivers must remain with their vehicle at all times. Drop & Go is not a parking area.
If your child is not ready for collection when you arrive, please continue through the zone and drive around again rather than waiting and holding up the flow of traffic.
If you need to leave your vehicle and come into the school, please reverse park in the Hall car park or park safely across the road and walk into the school.

We understand that afternoon parking and pick-up can be challenging, particularly as our school continues to grow. However, these procedures are in place to keep our students, families, staff and bus passengers safe and to ensure traffic continues to move efficiently.

We appreciate everyone taking a little extra care and consideration during these busy times.

🐝 SWELL – September: Including Others & Love 💗

This week we begin our new three-week SWELL unit, Including Others & Love.

We start with Week 8 – Everyone Belongs, where students will explore what it means to feel welcomed, valued and included. We’ll celebrate the things that make us unique and learn how our words and actions can help others know that they have a place in our school community.

Across the week, students will build vocabulary, explore stories, participate in social skilling activities and connect this learning with our Bee Respectful, Bee Responsible and Bee Safe expectations.

🎵 We also have a very special bell song this week!
“There’s a Place for You” has a fun, feel-good Dolly-inspired country vibe and shares our message that we don’t have to be the same to belong. We hope it will be one the students are singing along to very quickly! 🎸💗

Families can listen to our SWELL songs and follow along with the stories we are exploring throughout the month on our YouTube channel. It’s a great way to continue the conversations about belonging, inclusion and love at home.

This week, we celebrate our wonderful Speech-Language Pathologist, Olivia Durheim. Olivia supports our students to find their voices, build confidence, connect with others and participate fully in their learning.

💬 Celebrating Speech Pathology Week 2026! 💬

This week, 23–29 August, we’re celebrating Speech Pathology Week and an incredible 60 years of speech language pathologists making a difference in Queensland state schools.

The theme for 2026 is Communication Creates Possibility — possibility to connect, learn, grow, belong, choose, participate and thrive.

At Glenore Grove, we are very fortunate to have our wonderful Speech Language Pathologist, Olivia Durheim, as part of our team. Olivia works with us each Wednesday and Friday, supporting our students to develop the communication skills that help them engage in learning, build relationships, grow in confidence and experience success at school. 🐝❤️
