The TAS Department at Glendale has been very busy lately!
Our students have been getting creative, developing practical skills and bringing some fantastic projects to life across TAS.
Year 9 Child Studies students have been exploring the importance of creative play in early childhood through a fun, hands on mask, making activity. Students considered how creative experiences can support children’s imagination, self expression and development.
Year 8 Food Technology classes recently cooked up some delicious Kunzea Loaded Wedges, incorporating native Indigenous Australian bush ingredient Kunzea. Kunzea is an aromatic native plant with a distinctive herbal flavour, making it a great way for students to explore Australian ingredients and flavours. Yum!
Year 9 and Year 10 Industrial Technology and Design & Technology students have been busy designing and constructing their very own working pinball machines! With the mechanisms taking shape, students will now develop their own themes and add the finishing decorative touches to make each machine unique.
And our Year 7 Technology Mandatory students have been putting their workshop skills to the test by making timber stools from scratch. From measuring and marking to cutting, assembling and finishing, students are getting some great hands on experience.
It’s fantastic to see so much creativity, problem solving and practical learning happening in our TAS classrooms and workshops.
