Winkler Road update- There will still be rising smoke from the area today. All under control and contained.
Will be continuing to be monitored.

Smoke in the area - Winkler Rd.
There is more smoke this afternoon as the wind increases.
Current update is that an additional fire break has been put in this morning. Crew members have been on site on and off since yesterday monitoring. We will continue to monitor and provide updates to the community.

Currently all fire is with containment lines.

6pm update. Everything going smoothly. All within containment lines. Will be smoke for some time as the middle continues to burn.

Had the pleasure of assisting the Broadwater crew tonight to do a couple of hazard reduction burns.

Both land holders were extremely well prepared, which made it really easy for us to assist them reduce their fire hazard for the upcoming fire season.

ANNOUNCEMENT- after 1st Sept 26, there will be no new fire permits issued in the Glen Aplin area this fire season. At this stage, all current permits will remain current until their expiry date. If this changes due to weather conditions permit holders will be notified individually.

Further hazard reduction this afternoon 3pm same vicinity. Be advised smoke in the area.

If you're local land owner, now is the time to consider hazard reduction on your property before the window closes.

Applications for permit paperwork is available at the Liberty Service Station in the marked box on the wall beside the ice freezer.

Don't forget you can reduce your fire hazard also by grazing your land, clearing undergrowth, slashing etc. Have you got fire breaks in to protect your property this fire season?
