This year’s Book Week theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’ – celebrates the many voices, experiences and perspectives that come together to create ‘one harmonious whole’.

Sofia Starts School adds an important voice to Book Week’s ‘Symphony of Stories’ - reflecting the direct experiences of children and young people with disability and acknowledging every child’s right to feel welcomed, included and valued.

This book features a local young illustrator is available in the Flinders Mobile Library.

The Book Week 2026 theme is Symphony of Stories and on the library truck that sounds like families chatting about the authors they’ve loved, borrowers eagerly sharing their favourite characters, and readers of all ages down on the floor in the picture book section “just for a look” only to become completely absorbed again.

This Book Week we’re celebrating the harmonies that bring us together and the stories that stay with us long after the final page.
