When will Gladstone Regional Council listen?

Help protect our wildlife, pets and environment.

Environmentally friendly alternatives to fireworks include drone light shows, laser projections, and eco-friendly pyrotechnics that use nitrogen-based fuel to reduce air pollution. These options eliminate loud noises, pets' fear, and chemical pollution (barium/strontium). Other options include biodegradable confetti, digital displays, and community lighting events using LED/solar lights.

While many entanglements come from fishing gear, it isn't the only type of entanglement we see. Everyday items can cause serious injuries or worse for wildlife when they enter the environment.

How can you help?

βœ‚οΈ Make sure to cut all rings and elastic bands before putting them in the bin.
πŸ—‘οΈ Make sure rubbish is secured in a bin. (If it doesn't have a lid don't use it)
🏠 No bin around? Take your rubbish home with you.
πŸͺ Make sure all fishing gear is disposed of and not left on the beach, jetty or marina.
🧀 If you see rubbish that is safe to pick up please put it in the bin.

Together we can end entanglements and save wild lives.

Can you guess the species??
