🚧 Stay safe near BTAC site 🚧

We’re excited to be building a new pool for the community, but safety is our top priority while works are underway.

If you’re walking or driving near the Boyne Tannum Aquatic Centre construction site, please take extra care. Bulk earthworks are currently in progress, with heavy machinery operating and moving in and out of the area.

If you're travelling nearby, please allow for:
⚠️ Possible delays
⚠️ Changing road conditions
⚠️ Reduced speed limits

Follow all signage, directions and pedestrian detours in place to help keep everyone safe.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while we deliver this important project.

🌟 A Clear Vision for Our Future — Council Endorses New Five‑Year Corporate Plan 🌟

This week , Gladstone Regional Council endorsed the Our Vision 2026–2031 Corporate Plan — a major milestone that sets a clear, community‑driven direction for the next five years.

This plan reflects what we consistently hear from our community and our people. It captures the ambitions, priorities and expectations shared across conversations, workshops and everyday interactions right across the Gladstone Region. It is practical, honest and grounded in the lived experiences of the people who call this region home.

At the heart of the Corporate Plan are four ambitions shaped directly by our community:

✅Community – A Better Everyday — Clear, consistent and respectful experiences with Council so people feel heard, informed and connected.
✅Economy – Responsible Growth — Well‑planned, well‑paced growth that strengthens confidence in our region’s future.
✅Environment – Practical Stewardship — Visible, practical care for the natural places we value and rely on.
✅Trust and Confidence – Clear and ✅Consistent Decisions — Decisions that are explainable, consistent and followed through.

Mayor Matt Burnett noted that this plan comes at a key moment for our region, reflecting what matters most to our community — strong services, local opportunity and a region we’re proud to call home.

CEO Leisa Dowling highlighted that this plan sets a shared direction for how we grow with purpose, stay connected, respect our environment and build confidence in the decisions we make.

This Corporate Plan provides a clear line of sight between what our community expects and the work Council is committed to delivering.

It acknowledges where we are performing well, where we need to improve, and how we will stay accountable to the outcomes our community told us are most important.

❇️It is simple.
❇️It is accessible.
❇️And it is written so that everyone — residents, businesses, industry, volunteers, young people and new arrivals — can see themselves in it.

This is our shared vision. Our shared commitment. Our shared journey.
