Following our previous update regarding members from our Executive Management Team being available on the coast on the fourth Tuesday of every month. We would like to advise that this month, James Bayliss, our Acting Chief Executive Officer, will be in Lancelin and available to meet with community members from 11:30am – 2:15pm on Tuesday 23 June with 3 time slots available:

• 11:30am - 12:15pm
• 12:30pm - 1:15pm
• 1:30pm - 2:15pm

💡 This initiative provides an opportunity for local residents, community groups, and stakeholders to meet directly with Shire executives to raise ideas, issues, or opportunities.

We encourage community members to make the most of this opportunity to engage with the Shire’s leadership team in person.

𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲: Gazania linearis
𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮: Roadsides, farmland, bushland

𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱: A native to South Africa and commonly sold as a waterwise garden plant, Gazanias are now widely established on roadsides and in bushland, mostly in coastal areas. Forming thick mats as it grows, this pervasive w**d species smothers native vegetation and can quickly spread across farmland driving down the value of gazing fodder or disrupting cropping.

The Gingin District Community Resource Centre is inviting local young people aged 13–18 years and their parents to join us for a FREE Workforce Ready Workshop.

The Shire is excited to inform community that Never Sleep Pictures will be visiting the Shire of Gingin on Friday, 12 June 2026 to film on Bennies Road.

🚥 Local residents have been informed, as there will be traffic management on site for approximately half the day. Bennies Road will remain open, however you can expect stop/slow traffic control. Specific times for filming will be provided closer to the date.

The Australian film industry relies tremendously on the assistance of the local community and the support and understanding from community is very much appreciated.
