From small towns to the city lights, WA is roaring with pride for AFL Origin πŸ’›πŸ–€

With the return of AFL Origin, WA is celebrating its home-grown heroes from Northampton’s Patrick Cripps to Katanning and Mandurah's Shai Bolton and Quairading’s Kysaiah Pickett. It’s a reminder that when Origin kicks off, every corner of WA stands behind our own.

How are you cheering on WA for AFL Origin? 🏈

🎭✨ More live performances are on the way for regional WA!

10 projects have received support through the Regional Performing Arts program, helping bring more music, theatre, dance and puppetry to regional towns and communities.

More than 1.2 million in WA Government funding will support 2 new WA made works through the Made in WA category and 8 touring productions through the Playing WA category.

These performances will tour across regional Western Australia in 2026 and 2027, supporting artists, building local skills and boosting regional economies while giving communities more chances to enjoy high quality arts experiences close to home.

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒŸ More ways for remote students to get active in 2026!

The Remote Sporting Schools program is now open, giving eligible remote schools more flexibility, more choice and more opportunities for students to get involved in sport and physical activity.

Grants of up to $10,000 per school will be available each year, allowing schools to design programs that suit their local environment. Whether it’s skateboarding, fishing or horse riding, schools can tailor activities that truly connect with their students.

Schools can also use grants for self-delivered programs with equipment packs, or to bring trained deliverers into very remote communities for intensive sessions and upskilling opportunities.
