📢Lifesaving helicopter service coming to Geraldton🚁

Together with Libby Mettam MLA and Merome Beard MLA we are committed to restoring regional services and addressing critical healthcare gaps. That’s why we’re pledging $45 million to establish a Royal Flying Doctor Service Aeromedical Helicopter Base in Geraldton with 2 new helicopters to provide 24 hour coverage throughout the Midwest.

Here’s what this investment means for our community:

🚨 Rapid Emergency Response: Faster inter-hospital transfers and retrievals from remote areas whether it be Yalgoo, Carnarvon or the Abrolhos Islands.

🏥 Support for Local Health Services: Addressing high patient transfer demands from the Geraldton Health Campus, WA’s largest referrer of inter-hospital transfers.

🛤️ Improved Accessibility: Helicopters equipped to land on unprepared sites like roadsides and sports fields, ensuring help reaches even the most remote locations.

🏗️ Regional Growth: Strengthened healthcare infrastructure to support tourism, fisheries, and industry.

This investment will not only save lives but also ease the burden on volunteer ambulance crews, making healthcare more accessible to every corner of our region.
