🚫 No burning off in July 🚫

Cardinia Council local law prohibits burn offs in ANY zone during the month of July without a permit.

This is in place to mitigate smoke caused by the burning of wet fuels.

Gembrook CFA will be conducting training this evening (22 June 2026) from 7:30pm at Sacred Heart church on main street.

You will see fire trucks and firefighters on the property but unless VicEmergency shows a fire at the property, everything is safe.

The Fire Danger Period for Cardinia Shire Council will end on 7 April 2026.

Please keep in mind as we return to the safe use of fire to maintain our properties, that we remain at a significant rainfall deficit and you will need to take additional measures to keep your fires under control.

💧 Keep more water than usual nearby for suppression
🪏 Make your bare earth perimeter a bit larger around your fire
👀 Have someone actively attending your burn at all times
