πŸš’ Grovedale Fire brigade- Another busy year of service.

Behind every pager activation is a volunteer who leaves their family, work, sleep or plans to help someone in need.

We're incredibly proud of what our members have achieved throughout the 2025/26 financial year and grateful to everyone who supports our brigade behind the scenes. None of it would be possible without our volunteers, their families, employers and our amazing community.

Thank you for continuing to support Grovedale Fire Brigade. It's a privilege to serve our community, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Here's to another year of protecting what matters most. ❀️πŸ”₯

This afternoon, members of Grovedale Fire Brigade had the pleasure of visiting Lifestyle Mount Duneed to deliver a community education session focused on home fire safety.

Residents learned practical skills including:
🧯 How and when to use a fire extinguisher
πŸ”₯ Safe use of a fire blanket
🏠 Home fire safety awareness
🚨 Simple steps to help prevent emergencies and stay safe at home

It was fantastic to see so many residents getting involved, asking questions, and taking part in the session. Community education is one of the most effective ways we can help keep our local community safe.

To top off a Sunday afternoon, brigade members and residents also enjoyed a few friendly games of lawn bowls and pickleball, providing a great opportunity to connect, share stories, and have some fun along the way.

A big thank you to everyone at Lifestyle Mount Duneed for having us. We look forward to continuing to work with our community to promote fire safety and preparedness.

Monday nights are training / meeting night for the Grovedale CFA Senior Brigade.

Last week, half of our members conducted training using our thermal imaging camera, building their skills in locating heat sources and improving visibility in low-visibility environments. The second half completed hose testing using the district hose trailer, ensuring our equipment remains operational and ready for response.

Regular training like this helps ensure our brigade is prepared, capable, and ready to respond when our community needs us most.

This morning members of the Grovedale Fire Brigade attended a local primary school to provide community education around fire safety and to help students learn more about the important role CFA volunteers play within our community.

One of the highlights of the session was a hands-on reenactment where students practiced crawling low under β€œsmoke” to learn what to do in the event of a house fire. It was fantastic to see everyone so engaged and willing to get involved while learning important life-saving safety skills.

A big thank you to the school staff and students for having us, we always enjoy connecting with the community and helping educate the next generation about fire safety and emergency response.

Today we honor the dedication, courage, and sacrifice of firefighters worldwide.
Celebrated on May 4th to coincide with St. Florian’s Day, commemorating the first known commander of a Roman firefighting squad.

β€œThe role of a firefighter in today’s society – be it urban, rural, natural environment, volunteer, career, industrial, defence force, aviation, motor sport, or other is one of dedication, commitment and sacrifice – no matter what country we reside and work in. In the fire service we fight together against one common enemy – fire – no matter what country we come from, what uniform we wear or what language we speak.”

Today, Grovedale CFA joins in remembering our ANZACs. On this day, we mark the 111th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing β€” a moment that continues to shape our nation’s history and identity.

We also acknowledge all service personnel within our emergency services who continue to serve our communities with dedication and courage.

To our own members who have served, past and present β€” thank you. Your commitment and sacrifice are deeply appreciated.

Lest we forget.
