Wathaurong Aboriginal Co Op We are here to support and politically advocate for the Aboriginal community in the Geelong and wider region.

We meet the needs of our community by providing culturally appropriate, quality services and programs which promote sustainable economic growth, political stability, health and well-being and environmental care that is respectful of Aboriginal culture. The Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative acknowledges and accepts its responsibilities to the community in providing increased opportunities for social and economic advancement. We aim to have the Co-operative function in a way that will enable us to build and strengthen the social, cultural, economic, environmental and spiritual foundations of our community. We advocate for our community on issues which affect their lives and operate in a way that ensures the rights of our people are upheld. We work toward broader collaboration and maintaining partnerships with external stakeholders to ensure informed policy, program directions and service access and responsiveness. We represent community needs and interests in all of our dealings; this is the pure essence of community control.

The Geelong Aboriginal Employment Expo is back in 2026!

Happening on Thursday 26th November at Nyaal Banyul Convention Centre, it’s a great opportunity to see a whole range of different employment pathways, traineeships, apprenticeships and education opportunities for First Nations people, all in one place.

The expo will be on from 9am til 5pm, and will include hourly door prizes, lots of giveaways, and most importantly - REAL job opportunities.

If you or someone you know is looking for work, or looking for your next career step, or just want to learn more about what opportunities there are in Geelong, come along and check it out.

This is a FREE event but registration is required - you can register by clicking the link below, or scanning the QR code on the attached flyer.

Our Wathaurong People & Performance team will have a stall on the day and will be able to share information about job opportunities within Wathaurong as well.
