Join Parks Victoria for a Sea Slug Census in the intertidal rockpools of the Barwon Bluff Marine Sanctuary and see what you can discover.

🌿 The Barwon Heads Nature Festival is almost here!
From 21–25 September, Friends of the Bluff are bringing together an amazing program of events celebrating the wonderful natural environment of Barwon Heads. There’s lots to explore, including some fantastic events happening across our coastal foreshore reserves:

🥾 Monday 21 September – Explore Barwon Bluff, plus two Canoe the Mangroves sessions
🌱 Tuesday 22 September – Walk on Country @ Barwon Bluff with
🌊 Wednesday 23 September – Orchids in the Park, then Land, Sea, Sky slide night
🔬 Thursday 24 September – Tide & Seek: a family ‘marine science’ day
🧤 Friday 25 September – Barwon Heads Great Spring Clean Up, followed by the Turning the Tide short film festival that evening.

Join us Thursday September 17 at 2pm for a working bee and afternoon tea.
Get into the garden and help us establish some raised garden beds with help from Rotary Ocean Grove and The Men’s Shed
This is a great chance to meet your neighbours and get that feel good glow.

🌱 The planter boxes are ready and next week it’s time to get planting!

Cr Elise Wilkinson-Connewarre Ward visited Ocean Grove Community House this week to catch up with members of Rotary Club of Ocean Grove and take a look at the new raised garden beds ahead of next week’s community working bee.

The beds have been built and donated by the Ocean Grove & District Men's Shed using recycled materials, with Rotary bringing along some gardening know-how and providing afternoon tea on the day.

A City of Greater Geelong Social Inclusion Action Group grant funded the soil, compost, seedlings and tools, and now we need some willing hands to help bring the garden to life.

Come along to plant herbs and flowers, meet other locals and enjoy a free afternoon tea.

This month we are running a trivia quiz and enjoying a BBQ generously supplied by the Lions Club
