Manifold Heights Primary Drum & Fife band, which won the Victorian State School Band competition in 1953!

The band was composed of students playing various fifes, kettle drums, a large bass drum, cymbals or a triangle. They played to signal the morning flag-raising ceremony whilst students marched into class. How the times have evolved!

An update on our Jump Rope 4 Heart efforts at 'Mano'. Below is a snap shot of how much we have raised and the skipping hours students have logged.

Money Raised- $6,309 with a goal of raising $8,000
Minutes Logged- 131 hours

Most Raised Funds:
Isla Peirce- $544.38
Freddie Roncon- $346.06
Trixie McInness- $338.58

Most Hours Skipped:
Amelia Palermo- 3 hours 50 minutes
Trixie McInness- 3 hours 55 minutes
Skylar Samuels- 6 hours 40 minutes

This week in P.E. students created their own skipping routine with a partner or group. They will practise this routine in upcoming P.E. Classes, ready for our Jump Off Day on Tuesday 18th of June (date change).

As a proud school community, we care about ourselves and others. That’s why we’re excited to be part of Jump Rope for Heart 2021. Jump Rope has been getting little Aussies active and raising funds to fight heart disease for 35 years.

Morning Mano! Jump Rope 4 Heart has been launched this week and our kids are absolutely loving it!

Since Monday, 70 of our students have registered online, 5 Hours of skipping practice has taken place, and a massive $1,020 has already been raised! 😊

This is a great start to the program, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve, with more and more of us getting on board each day!
