Last month President Des Randall and Vice President John Mellor entertained 80 school children from Mundubbera State P10.

The children had a fantastic day learning all about the history of Queensland Railways and the former Gayndah Monto Branch Line.

The children were fascinated with our M Class Sunlander carriages and proved an awesome fun experience.

Thank you Mundubbera State P10 for choosing Gayndah Heritage Railway.

A Special General Meeting was held today by members of Gayndah Heritage Railway Rail Trail to vote on a name change of our organisation.

Members voted unamimoiusly on a name change. The new name of our organisation is Gayndah Heritage Railway. With the establishment of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail, having 2 rail trail identiites within the region, was causing too much confusion.

Please be advised all future enquiries regarding the Burnett River Bridges Rail Trail, Reid's Creek to Mundubbera are to be directed to the committee of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail.

Members and volunteers of Gayndah Heritage Railway will solely focus on promoting the heritage railway activities at the Gayndah Railway Station Complex, 9 National Street, Gayndah, QLD 4625.

For further enquires or if you wish to become a member of Gayndah Heritage Railway an exciting rail preservation group, please contact President Des Randall, Vice President John Mellor, Secretary Julie Cooper or Treasurer Jason Cooper.

Our volunteers do a great job, welcoming our visitors to the station complex. Some of our volunteers are elderly and enjoy promoting our heritage railway to the community and visitors.

However, our elderly volunteers are not here to receive abuse from a very small minority of our visitors. Please don't stop if you want to be aggressive towards our volunteers, because you didn't want to pay the $5 overnight fee. Keep driving and find another suitable location.

Our volunteers are the engine room of Gayndah Heritage Railway.
