Earlier this year, we asked our community for feedback on the Town of Gawler's draft Community Engagement Policy.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to have their say.

Your feedback helped shape the final policy recognising different community needs and preferences, and how we report back on what we've heard.

The Community Engagement Policy has now been endorsed by Council and will help guide how we engage with our community across the Town of Gawler.

It’s time to talk about dementia

Join Dementia Care Alliance Gawler for a friendly and informative morning as we come together to learn, connect and help build a more dementia-friendly community.

Leading into Dementia Action Week, this Q&A-style session will explore what dementia is, with local insights from Dementia Care Alliance Gawler, Dementia Australia and Carers SA.

Then, stay for a morning tea/brunch and a chance to chat, ask questions and connect with others.

The weather is warming up, so why not head down to the Withers Circuit Playspace? 🛝🚜

The Rural Farm-themed playspace at Withers Circuit Reserve, Evanston Park is ready for families to enjoy!

There’s plenty to explore, including two play structures, swings, a trampoline, interactive play features and a Ninja Course with a solar stopwatch timer for kids to test their skills. 🥷

Shaped by community feedback, the playspace is a fun and inclusive space for children of all ages to play, explore and enjoy the outdoors.

🚧 ROADWORKS | Redbanks Road

Targeted road stabilisation and repair works are underway on Redbanks Road between Willaston and Mallala.

The works, being undertaken by Downer on behalf of the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, will repair worn and damaged sections of the road and are expected to continue through to late October 2026.

During works:
🚦 Stop/slow traffic controls will be in place between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Sunday
🚗 Parking may be temporarily restricted near work zones
🚲 Pedestrians and cyclists are asked to take extra care and follow any signage or detours
🚑 Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times
🔊 Some noise, vibration and dust can be expected

Please slow down, follow the directions of traffic controllers and take extra care when travelling through work areas.

Works are weather dependent and the timeframe may change if delays occur. Aftercare signage may also remain in place for several weeks after works are completed.

Gawler’s stone kerbs are a distinctive part of our town’s character and heritage. But how should they be managed into the future?

The Town of Gawler is developing a Draft Stone Kerb Policy to help guide decisions about retaining, replacing or installing stone kerbs, while balancing heritage, safety, accessibility and responsible use of Council resources.
