This July, we are partnering with Perth Zoo as part of the Telethon Holiday Maker Program.

We’re running a full-day session at Perth Zoo, with opportunities to explore different areas throughout the day, alongside a shared space to return to.

This means young people can:
• spend time exploring animals and habitats
• take part in activities across the day
• return to a familiar space to recharge and connect
It’s a way to experience Perth Zoo, with the day spent exploring, connecting, and being part of the space.

We extend our thanks to the Perth Airport Community Boost Program for their support 💙
This has allowed us to expand the sensory supports in our Midland social programs, with items such as noise-cancelling headphones and fidgets to further support young people to engage in ways that feel right for them.

Here's a glimpse of what made the 2023 Symposium special.

That year, we introduced an inclusive education masterclass in partnership with inclusionEd. Attendees walked away with practical strategies to support autistic students in the classroom.
Talks included inclusive gaming, understanding autistic play, supporting gender diverse young people, and mentoring through art.

If you haven't grabbed your ticket for our 10th Symposium, now's the time. We'd love to welcome you.

Why attend the Spectrum Space Symposium?

Across two days, the Symposium brings together autistic people, families, educators, professionals and community members to share experiences, ideas and approaches that support meaningful participation and inclusion.

Depending on what you’re looking for, this might include:
• Hearing from lived experience, research and advocacy voices
• Practical strategies to support young people and individuals in everyday settings
• Sessions for educators and professionals focused on inclusive, strengths-based approaches
• Workshops and panels designed to support understanding and real-world application

You can choose from four streams:
Parents & Carers, Professionals & Educators, Community, and Wellbeing, creating space to engage with what feels most relevant.

There are also opportunities to:
• Connect with others across the community
• Explore resources and exhibitors
• Take part in conversations and shared learning
• Enjoy a fully catered event, with spaces to recharge across the venue

We’re also celebrating 10 years of the Symposium, including a special sundowner event on Thursday evening.
