Breaststroke kick isn't a straight push back. It's a sweep.

Feet turn out, then the kick moves from the inside of the foot to the outside. Face stays down, body stays horizontal in the water.

Get this right and the glide does the rest.

Butterfly looks like an arm stroke. It's really a head position.

Face down between breaths keeps the legs up. Look up too soon and the legs start to sink.

Our swimmers are working on this every session. Small adjustment, big difference in the stroke.

Meet Lucy, one of our instructors at Peninsula Swim School.

She grew up swimming right on the beach, all the way through squad. That's what led her to teaching.

Lucy teaches most levels here, with level four as her favourite. It sits right at that turning point between the early stages and the more advanced skills.

Our instructors bring real experience to every class, not just a qualification on paper.

Our squad swimmers turned it up at our Commonwealth Games event in Somerville.
Everyone had a go. There were some close finishes. And ribbons were won.
High fives all round.
