*NDIS information*

New information came out recently about when someone can ask for an early plan review.
A plan can only be reviewed early if:
• There is a big and ongoing change in what the person can do and the support they need, or
• There is a big and unexpected change in their living situation, study, work, or support from family or others

This information helps, but it is still not clear how the rules will work in real life, especially for people asking for changes to their housing support.
We do know that when the new law starts, the new rules will begin within 7 days. Any current review requests will be checked using these new rules.
The NDIS will also take up to 90 days (instead of 21 days) to decide if they will review a plan. This means people may have to wait longer.

Our advice:
If you are asking for an early plan review, you should clearly explain how your situation fits these rules. You should include this in your evidence and in the Change of Situation form.
Pay special attention to these questions:
• What has changed in your situation?
• Why do your current supports no longer meet your needs?
Use these answers to show clearly that the change is big, important, and ongoing, and how it affects you.
